Register online now to attend a Hague Seminar at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on March 30, 2017.  The objective of the Seminar is to give feedback to users some two years on from the accession of Japan, the Republic of Korea and the United States of America.  The Seminar will consider the Hague System’s use in these countries, as well as the level of designations.  There will also be an update from the Intellectual Property Office of the Russian Federation relating to its future accession to the Hague System.

This Seminar will also present best practices in an ever‑expanding System and demonstrate the tools at your disposal to ensure you can efficiently and effectively work with Hague System procedures.  Additionally you will have the opportunity to interact with Hague Registry experts and the invited speakers, as well as to seek advice, share opinions, experiences and ideas.

The Seminar will be in English.  The sessions will be led by various WIPO experts, with the participation of representatives from the IP offices of Japan, the Republic of Korea and the United States of America as well as two IP practitioners.

The Seminar is for representatives from the private sector, SMEs, attorneys, IP practitioners, users and potential users of the Hague System.  If you are looking to improve your knowledge of the Hague System, learn about its features and benefits, or want to know all about the latest changes to the international design system, then this Seminar is the event for you.

  • Introduction to the Hague System;
  • Statement from ROSPATENT regarding the future accession of the Russian Federation to the Hague System;

  • From filing to expiring: the lifecycle of a registration;
  • E-Tools: ongoing developments;
  • The Hague System: practical experience from the point of view of practioners.

Registration and payment

Registration fees of 300 Swiss francs include all seminar materials, lunch, and morning and afternoon teas.  Participants should register online by Thursday, March 23, 2017, 6 p.m., at the latest.  Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  Fees are payable via bank transfer, WIPO Current Account or credit card.

Please note that no refunds will be processed in the case of cancellations received after Thursday, March 23, 2017.

For IP offices:   Officials from national IP offices of the members of the Hague Union are exempt from the payment of registration fees.

Organizational information

Participants or the administrations they will be representing are responsible for organizing their own entry visa (where applicable) and accommodation arrangements.  General information regarding accommodation in Geneva is available through the Geneva Tourism Office.
