This Kat is hoping to absorb knowledge by osmosis

As many parts of the world slowly reopen, one can still enjoy IP-related events from the comfort of home.

Events

The third event in FIDE and TIPSA’s #GlobalDigitalEncounters series on the future of Intellectual Property in a post-crisis world will take place from 3-4pm BST this Thursday, 18 June on the topic of ‘International IP and Access to Pandemic Treatments’. Moderated by Prof. Laurent Manderieux (Bocconi University), the speakers are Prof. Rochelle Dreyfuss (NYU) and Prof. Henning Grosse Ruse-Khan (University of Cambridge). Further information and registration is available here.

If you missed the first and second #GlobalDigitalEncounters, FIDE has made recordings of the events available on its website here.

Other

Readers who are following the implementation of Articles 18-22 of the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive 2019/790 may be interested in the European Copyright Society’s opinion on the matter, as reported and summarised by CREATe (University of Glasgow) here. Other ECS opinions are also available here.

Finally, congratulations are in order for PermaKat Eleonora Rosati on being named on WIPR’s 2020 list of Influential Women in IP, “based on nominations from readers across the globe on who they regard as women in law who play a vital role in advancing the IP industry and challenging the existing status quo,” including recognition of her work here at the IPKat.
