3 May 2023: Bill Cornish Memorial Lecture

Professor Jane Ginsburg will deliver the Bill Cornish Memorial Lecture on 3 May 2023 at London School of Economics (LSE). The first lecture in the series is entitled “The Author as Revenue-Sharer – Reflections in Memory of Bill Cornish and his ‘The Author as Risk-Sharer'”. Her lecture will be followed by a commentary by Professor Lionel Bently. Registration link here.

26 May 2023: “The Interface Between Copyright and Data Regulation”

The programme of the European Copyright Society’s annual conference (“The Interface Between Copyright and Data Regulation”) is now online and registration is open. Speakers include members of the ECS and of the European Commission who will discuss the many relationships between copyright and data, having regard to, amongst others, AI, trade secrets, the DSA and the Data Act. The conference will take place at the University of Leuven on 26 May 2023.

21 June 2023: Annual Sir Hugh Laddie Lecture 2023

The Annual Sir Hugh Laddie Lecture 2023 organised by UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) will take place on 21 June 2023 at 6pm at UCL’s Cruciform Lecture Theatre. This year’s edition is entitled “The UPC Sets Sails”. The lecture will be also live streamed. More information here.

Call for application: IViR’s postdoctoral research fellow position

The Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam is currently offering a postdoctoral research fellow position. The person selected will conduct research on a variety of projects within the realm of copyright, in collaboration with other researchers at the Institute, under the supervision of its Directors. Call for contributions: University of Turin, School of Law’s conference

The University of Turin, School of Law is looking for contributions to be presented during a conference to be held in November 2023. Selected papers shall be published in a collective volume. Both the conference and the volume aim to analyse techno-legal aspects of the data scraping phenomenon. More information here.
