On September 6 to 8, WIPO is holding its biannual Worldwide Symposium on Geographical Indications (GIs), this time virtually. Attendance is free of charge and topics such as commercialization strategies for GIs, and challenges for GIs and the Internet Domain Name System, will be covered.
Vacancies
WIPO and Invent Together are recruiting for a Research Fellowship on Gender & IP. Aimed at PhD students and Post-docs, the post involves researching the links between innovation, IP and gender, and increasing the availability of data and research on the patent gaps based on gender. The research requires proficient quantitative skills and can also be used as part of a PhD. The Fellow will be based in Washington, D.C. for six months and then up to two years at WIPO in Geneva. Submission deadline is August 31, 2021.
The University of Stirling has opened a position of a Lecturer in Intellectual Property and European Union law. The position is full-time and is aimed at candidates with a PhD. Selection runs until September 1, 2021.
The University of Newcastle is also hiring, with an open position for a Lecturer in Intellectual Property and Business Law. The position is full time and for a fixed term (12 months). The closing date is August 25, 2021.
The Sheffield Hallam University is seeking a Funding Adviser (Intellectual Property and Innovation), to support the University’s research ambitions. The position is full time, with a permanent contract. Submission deadline is August 23, 2021.
The University of West England (UWE) Bristol is looking to hire a Lecturer in Law, with a focus on Intellectual Property law. The vacancy is permanent. Application closing date is August 22, 2021.
